He loved it!

After the birthday dinner, on the way home in the car, Dylan came up to me, slowly tapped my shoulder and said, "amma, the cake is very nice.." *melt* and casually went back to his seat.

It was a simple gesture, but it meant a thousand words to me!

All gone within a minute!
All the edible Angry Birds, piglets, planks and stones were made out of chocolates
- KitKat, MnMs, chocolate crispies, hazelnut chocolates, etc.

He is already 5!

Oh my, Oh my...
How time flies!
Oh my, Oh my...
He is already 5!

Wishing a happy birthday to the one,
Who adds sunlight to my day.
The one who gives me happiness,
In his own sweet loving way.

Happy Birthday Aaron!

Blame it on amma, our entry was late and his photo didn't get to make it in the September 2012 birthday book.
So, I made a photoshop of his photo into his favourite birthday wish background *wink*

8 already?

Seems like only yesterday I held my first born in my arms.. on April 7, 2004.
Today, he is 8 already!

We planned for a surprised mini birthday celebration right at 000 GMT.
Apps brought him upstairs.. to get into bed.
Nixon, Aaron and I prepared the marble cake muffins with the 8 candles.
The boys went up to call apps and Thytus.. to watch a movie..
He came down surprised to see a birthday cake made of 8 pieces of muffins for him!
After blowing off the candles, cutting the muffins, we did watch TV for a while *grin*

Aaah, my baby!
He is growing up into a fine boy..
Aaah, how time flies!
He is already 8 now..

Apart from the mini celebration at the strike of midnight, there was a lunch treat and a real cake cutting session with paternal and maternal grandparents, uncles and aunties..

Let's get spooky!

In conjunction with Halloween Day on 31st October 2010, the kindergarten children are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween costumes or bright coloured clothes on Monday, 1st November 2010.

I asked my son, "What do you want to wear for Halloween?"
"I want to wear the skeleton suit!" he answered.

Hmmm, a skeleton suit? No, no! The other KG kids might run off seeing him in a skeleton suit!

I think I will have to source out for a more suitable Halloween costume for him to wear to school.

What does not change forever?

As I grew up, I passed many levels of life, from being a dependent child, to trying to be an independent adult, and now, I am a wife and mother myself. So many things have changed around me - family, friends, career, environment, priorities, etc. But the one thing that has not changed in my life is.. parent's LOVE!

They ask me whether I feel like eating anything special.. they cook for me i.e. my favourite fish, vegetable and curry dishes. I do miss my mother's cooking :)

Now and then, they would cook/buy my all time favourites when visiting me i.e. kuih chang, red bean desert, etc. Their sweet thoughts are always touching.. I know they are thinking of me even when I am not right beside them ;)

They buy stuffs that I used to like for my sons i.e tang lung. Definitely uproots my childhood memories :)

When I visit or stay over at their place, appa would go through the trouble to make sure the house/room I occupy is not dusty. He mops, wipes and vacuums! Amma cooks my favourite dishes.. she sure knows what I likes!

Don't I still feel I am their little girl. *melting sigh*

With that, I would like to wish you Happy Father's Day Appa!

And to my dearest husband, your are great father yourself. Our kids cannot get any better appa than you!

For that, both of you get a father's day medal ;)

Here's a GOLD medal for appa, for being a great dad and another GOLD medal for apps, for being a great husband and father!

Let us celebrate

In 2003, we went to Genting for apps birthday, since I wanted to do something different.. other than the usual movie and a romantic dinner of just the two of us ;)

I wanted apps to try the Sky Venture, but he dragged me along. Now, I have to thank him that I tried it, coz' I think I am not fit to try it now.. with me experiencing back aches now. Aiya, I'm feeling old already! *sigh*

Anyway, this year, we decided to go to Genting again.. this time, for my birthday.

2003, it was just the 2 of us. 3 years later, it is the 4 of us!

I choose Genting as the boys have not been there, and it would be fun for them to get on the rides. We went in each of the family rides twice.. Indeed, the boys did have loads of fun.. and so did we!

PS : We were kind of disappointed that the temperature up there was not as cold as we expected it to be. The boys didn't even need the jackets!

What we did on my birthday last year?

With one celebration after another, I just love December! We start of with my birthday.. get excited with shopping and presents.. and end it with the Christmas and New Year celebrations!

With that, I would like to wish all a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! Happy Holidays too ;)
