The note that didn't work!

Thytus was so cute...

We checked in Aviallion, PD about 1.00 pm. After having our lunch, we wanted Aaron and Dylan to have their nap (and so that we could catch a wink as well ;) so, we told Thytus and Nixon that we will head to the pool at around 4 pm.

Both of them were just to excited to nap. While we were asleep, they actually finished 6 donuts by themselves (I was so dissapointed when I found that my donut for my tea has vanished...). They were playing for a while.. but got bored. They wanted to swim!

So, Thytus wrote a message for apps...

Thytus message to apps

... and left it right beside him on the bed. They were hoping that he will shift his position and find this note.. but he didn't!

In the end, they didn't manage to wake him up any earlier than 4 pm... *sigh*

So embarrassing!

Since Thytus had to wear glasses, we got Nixon to check his eyes too. Apparently, Nixon had to wear glasses too.

Thytus is a responsible child – wears his glasses all the time and takes care of it well.

On the other hand, Nixon being himself, does not handle it very well. He loves to treat it like a sunglasses, perform acrobatic acts with the glasses, bend it this way and that way!

We have to visit the optician nearly every alternate days. It becomes really embarrassing for us. Apps and I take turn to visit the optician.. to share the embarrassment!

The optician is amazes how does Nixon bend the glasses with his bare hands, while the he has to use the his instruments to repair the glasses!

How is it going...

.. with me?
I am definitely getting so much heavier than the last two pregnancies. I'm in my 33rd week now, and can't wait to deliver already. I wonder whether I will deliver early just like my second pregnancy.. at the 37th week.

So far, we are unable to confirm the baby's sex. Since we have waited till long, we might as well wait another month, huh?

.. with Champion?
He is impressing us with his perfect sentences.. with some English accent.

"Amma, can I some orange juice please?"
"Can I watch that CD, please?"
"Can I have some more please?"
"Thank you amma." When we say welcome, he replies with a "No problem."
Or, he gives us the short "Thanks" .. sounding just like a grown up.

Hmm, apart from learning manners from us, I think the TV programmes is influencing him. He is a TV addict. Given a chance, he will sit there watching TV whole day. He does get involved with other activities like badminton with apps, loves his 12-piece jigsaw puzzle, playing with his cars and reading books, or rather, getting me to read to him.. but when he is not given any attention, he resorts to the TV. I wish I was able to spend more quality time with him.. especially at this age.. but since I am trying to cope with myself at the moment, it is tough to sit with him long enough :( I guess I can do better after the delivery...

Champion listens to our instructions well.. (most of the time). He even straightens things when they are not right.. puts back what he took. He is also easier to handle when we bring him out. When I brought him to a function without apps, he ate all by himself, even when I offered to feed him. He impressed me!

.. with lil' President?
He is getting more clingy to apps. When apps is not around, he looks for me. He is still sucking his thumb and looks for my elbow to scratch when he is sleepy. Somehow, he doesn't like apps elbow.. so it's mine that he looks for.. Even if he was sitting with apps, he will get down and look for me.. or rather, my elbow!

He too is getting involved with the 12-piece jigsaw puzzle.. but we would have to ask him for different parts of the picture and he would point out. Then, being lazy.. he would ask us to pick it up and fix it ourselves!

Somehow, he is not interested in TV.. he loves playing with toys.. even if it meant playing by himself. He loves to irritate his brother by switching off the TV while he is watching.. Hmm, may be he is seeking his brother's attention?!

His communication skills is definitely better than Champion at the same age. He speaks and understands three languages (English, Tamil and Bahasa Malaysia) quite well. I am impressed with his Bahasa Malaysia when he communicates with the maid.. Champion can do the same.. but lil' President is a year younger!

Lil' President is a little hard to discipline.. he does what he wants.. Champion was the opposite at his age. He listened well to our instructions and was an obedient boy. Lil' President loves to throw things and keep the table clean buy pushing everything to the floor!

.. with apps?
He is definitely doing his best to handle 3 people with different characters.. me, Champion and lil' President. He tries to satisfy our needs, tantrums and fusses.. and I must say, he is dong just great! ;)

Nowadays, since I have lessen my shouting and conditioning with the boys.. (to reduce my own stress..) apps is coming into action. He has been the quite one all this while.. but now the lion is awake. He can't help it but to do a little scolding and conditioning with the boys.. especially lil' President!

I guess we are just hanging in there and waiting for the arrival of the new addition to the family :)

He's just pretending

I was wondering whether lil’ President already understands my instructions.. “Cannot do this”, “Cannot climb that”, “Cannot throw there”, etc.

I shared with apps.. and he said, “Of course he knows...

But I was comparing on how early Champion was listening to my instructions compared to lil’ President.. “It seems like lil’ President is slower”, I said.

No. He actually listens to you. Do you remember, yesterday, when you told him to put back the torchlight, he put it back. Then, when you turned your back, he took it back.. Then, when I told him to put it back, he just looked at me and continued playing with it. When you came back and told him to put it back, he put it back again! He knows..

Yeah, actually he understands whatever we say. Just that he is trying to ignore our instructions..” I agreed.

He listens to my instructions because he know I mean what I say :)

Lil’ President is just pretending to act blur to our instructions so that he can continue doing what he wants to do!

Looking back - naughty

When appa was on his night shifts, it would just be amma, thambhi and I.

I remember.. amma would allow us to watch TV. She says we need a little of TV now and then. She said we shouldn't study too much. Of course, appa says there is no such thing. He was against it and expects us to use our free time studying. Appa would scold amma and say that she is spoiling us by allowing us to watch TV during our study time, 7.00 p.m. till 9.00 p.m.

So, in the nights, we would be watching TV with our books right next to us. The moment thambhi or I catch the slightest sound of appa’s motorbike (we were very good at sensing appa’s motorbike..), we would rush to open our books. Amma will also join in the rush to of the TV.

When appa comes in the house, it would seem as if we were studying and amma was reading newspaper or doing something. Most of the time he doesn’t know what we have been up to. But sometimes, we just can’t help it and our giggles will give way. Appa would frown.

However, if it is too late and it was way past our bedtime, we would straightway jump into our beds the moment we hear appa’s motorbike. Worst of all, thambhi acts as if he was sleeping and would even snore!!! He was only about 8 years old.

Looking back - naughty

Appa worked on shifts while amma worked normal office hours.

I remember.. we waited for ever time appa left for work. We would wait a few minutes and when we are sure he was not coming home for anything that he forgot, we would lock the house and leave to the playground.

We would play like we have nothing to worry. Some neighbourhood kids would join us too. We were all about the same age..

This went on for sometime, until a neighbour aunty decided to drop a bomb on us. She informed amma that we played in the playground nearly all afternoons till she came back.

BOMB!

I don't know why we did that even though we had a scheduled playtime nearly everyday.. that's when amma comes back from work at about 6 p.m. She will allow us to play till about 7 p.m.

Sometimes, we have tried to overlook our watch and go home late.. and say "Ooo, we lost track of the time. We didn't know it was 7 already!" So, amma would tell us, "When the street lights are on, it's 7! So, you should be back when the lights are on." After that, we had no excuses, when the lights were on.. we would be at home!

Happy & Speechless

I am happy because..
Champion has stopped drinking milk in the nights. He is no more waking up in the middle of the night asking "Appa, susu".

Early this year he reduced his night milk requirement to twice, about two months ago he reduced to once, and since two weeks ago, no more!

It all started when I got pregnant the second time, when Champion was about 4 months old. During the pregnancy, I was always tired and couldn’t wake up at night to attend to Champion. Apps and I had agreed that he will take care of Champion while I take care of lil’ President.

While in his care, he had fed Champion milk every time he cries.. assuming he was hungry. That routine continued and Champion got used to it until over 2 years old. Even if he was not hungry, he will get up and ask for his ‘susu’.

Pity apps.. I couldn’t help even after lil’ President grew older. Champion only wanted apps to make him his night milk.

Thank goodness, now he has grown out of it. It is actually for the good of both apps and Champion. Apart from Champion reducing the possibility of tooth decay, both of them can have a good night sleep.

I am speechless because..
Lil’ President is climbing almost everything… Wait! Correction.. not almost everything, actually, EVERYTHING!

Yesterday I caught him climbing the TV cabinet which is taller than him. He hung from the edge, and started climbing himself up. He walked on the walls of the cabinet and tried to get higher!

He did the same thing at the back of the sofa. He was able to climb a side table ¾ his height. He even climbs the gate.

Oh my goodness, what else will he be climbing next?

When I look at all this, Champion is a gem. But still, I know lil’ President is just experimenting his surrounding. We’ll give him some time before he understands the danger?!

Sharing, a must?!

What we want him to share, he won't. What we tell him not to share, he shares!

Champion loves using Mr. President's water bottle, eventhough we had got him a new, nicer, colourful water bottle, fit for a toddler his age.

Now, Mr. President has caught the fever from Champion. Arrgghhh!
