I allowed Champion to do some painting while I write the wordings on the cards. Pity Champion. I was concentrating too much on writing on the cards, he was getting bored. He called me, “Amma, come paint amma.”
I joined him. Helped him dash more colours on the paper and later asked him to continue.
After preparing the cards, using a tooth brush, I pulled back the bristles and made tiny spots on the card. Seeing me, Champion wanted to try too. He touched the paint using the tooth brush and positioned his fingers just the way I did. He couldn’t sprinkle to colours. I helped him. Still he couldn’t. His fingers were not strong enough to hold the brush and pull back the bristles at the same time!
After a few tries, he gave up. He was not interested anymore. He went looking for apps instead.
I finished the card with a unique border.. stamps. The stamps are amma’s collection. She has been collecting stamps since young and has passed to me the whole drum of stamps.

It turned out to be quite unique and nice...

Since Sunday was St. Anthony’s feast as well, we planned to go for the 8.00 a.m. mass at St. Anthony’s church in Pudu, KL. Luckily, the boys were all cheerful on Sunday morning, despite having to wake up at 7.30 a.m. Lil' President was a bit cranky with the crowd. I guess it was because he was not feeling well. He has been having this on and off fever since Thursday.. must be some viral infection.
After breakfast, we went to aiyyah’s place for a short visit before heading to taatha’s place for lunch. I must mention that I took note that apps had actually wished his dad Happy Father’s Day. He mumbled Happy Father’s Day in between his handshake to him. It was a good effort, as he is usually less verbal with him.
I have always told him that he should be more communicative, especially now, that he is a father of two. We should not bring up the children with barriers between adults and children, father and son, etc. They kids must feel comfortable in talking to us, not just as parents, but as a friend too.
Amusingly, he is quite conversant with appa. I guess it’s the people and background that makes the difference. Appa and amma has always encouraged us to be close and communicative, so we had no problem to be expressive. Thus, he is very comfortable in communicating with my family.
After seafood lunch in Hulu Langat, we had tea at home. After shower we went to have dinner with in-laws. The boys were very tired by evening, but with all the excitement with their cousins, the just didn't sleep. The moment the were in my arms on the way back home, both dozed off.. almost immediately.
A day which started at 7.30 a.m. for us, ended only at 11.30 p.m. Phew! :)
