Now it’s his turn

Just as I recover from chicken pox, I keep on looking out of whether the boys showed any signs of chicken pox.. just in case.

Two days ago, I spotted a red spot on lil’ President’s cheek. Suspecting something amiss, I checked his back, and confirmed that’s it was chicken pox. He had a few tiny shiny spots on his back.

As apps had given me strong medication to fight the chicken pox outbreak, I didn’t really experience the worst of chicken pox. But when I saw lil’ President last night, I really felt pity for him. He had so many watery spots on his body and face. He had already scratched a few. Now and then, he would say “Pain..” and point to where it is itchy and say “Here..” asking me to scratch for him. I would just have to lightly rub my fingers over the itchy spots. Somehow, he feels better with that.

He couldn’t even sleep well last night. He had fever. He felt itchy. It was painful. *sigh*

Unfortunately, he cannot take the same kind of medication I took for children as it is only for children above 2 years old! This little boy who couldn’t sit still is now moaning in pain. I really hope the chicken pox gets off fast.

Hope he recovers soon. BTW, in the last couple of years they have a vaccination against chicken pox. I think it would be wiser if you inoculate your other son.

Calamine lotion should give some relief in addition to the normal Indian custom of using tulasi leaf.
Also, we use Pinetarsol to bathe as it soothes the skin.

anonymous,
Yeap, we are using the Calamine lotion. It is helping them feel better :)
We bathe them with the water soaked with 'veppalai' and 'manjal' left in the morning sun too.. Indian custom too, I believe ;P
I couldn't make them lie on the 'veppalai' leaves, as they were more excited playing with it as confetti! *sigh*
Thanks for the advice :)

jazzmint,
They haven't got the jabs.. a bit too late *sigh*
But with the medication hubby is giving them, it has controlled it a bit.
Since lil' President started later on the medication, so he suffered more compared to Champion. Champion didn't even realise he was down with chicken pox!
They are both recovering well now :)
