Comparison of development and milestone between siblings is common. We can do it as a healthy comparison.. just to make sure each child is growing up in the right pace and we are doing the right thing to guide them in each of their milestones.
Just as we were discussing when did Champion start speaking real words, we were passing the ‘ketupat’ deco along the road. I remember teaching Champion to say ‘ketupat’ the same time last year at about 19 months. He said "pat" for ‘ketupat’.
So, I tried it on lil’ President, now at 17 months.. I pointed to the ‘ketupat’ and said “Ketupat” and he said “pat-tu-tu-put-tu-pat” with the saliva spitting out. He said it just as if it was a tongue twister. It sounded real funny.
As long as he is still tongue twisting his ‘ketupat’, we are asking him to say the word. It still makes us laugh when we ask him to say ‘ketupat’..

visithra,
Indeed!
jazzmint,
When there is a sibling around, I guess the younger child tends to catch up faster.. to be able to communicate with each other ;)
maya cassis,
I tried a few times, but he was so distarcted with other stuffs around him. Still trying to get it before he learns how to pronounce 'ketupat'.. Coming soon!
mom2ashley,
Malay words can be difficult to say and may sound many when toddlers try to pronounce it. Try it again, she may say it funnily too :P
My boys speak Malay with the maid, so they are getting used to it, although it does sound funny sometimes ;P
so champioin is more efficient in terms of speaking.. he uses pat to shorten ketupat..
Where as president is more of a entertainer.. he entertain while he learn how to speak.. :P
zara's mama,
Champion was 2 months ahead though :)
Yeap, lil' President is just an entertainer.. it was real cute ;)
