Thambhi planned a surprise birthday party for his MIL whose birthday is on May 7th. Since his fiancé is posted in JB at the moment, he droved down, picked her up right after her post-call.
Thambhi bought some noodles, fried rice and chicken wings, I brought the ice-cream, bananas, chocolate syrup and almond chips for the banana split, MIL's sisters brought jelly, hot dogs, nuggets, fries. Appa and amma got her a beautiful cake.. even Champion thought it was so beautiful, that he touched the flowers, pulled the butterfly and poke the cake. Thank God it was still good. He didn’t do much damage!
We headed to their place in Sg. Long by 10.30 p.m. All of them hid the cars, slippers, and the wet umbrellas (it was raining).
Athai was suppose to come at about 11.30.. for a so-called function at their neighbours.. that's what maama tricked her into. But she did suspect something amiss, as maama did give away some clues.
When she arrived at the gate, we were all hiding.. keeping really quite. FIL went to open the main gate. Appa suddenly asks, "What shall we shout.. Suprise or Happy Birthday?" He wanted to make sure we shout the same thing, so he ran upstairs to ask thambhi. I was hoping he comes down before she comes into the living.. Before anything, I got distracted!
She was walking up the stairs, and lil' President starts to babble! Arrgghh... I only could put my finger in his mouth, so that he will bite or suck on it. Those hiding in the ground floor were busy looking at us (me and lil' President), and we totally forgot about her already being in the house. Just that moment, I looked right, and MIL’s was right there standing watching us, shocked! But, we were shocked too.. seeing her there and not saying anything. Recovering from the shock,. I shouted SURPRISE!
Then everybody else came from upstairs, except thambhi and SIL. MIL's was so so shocked.. especially to see so many people (about 20).
Then Susee athai said, "What is a birthday without a cake, isn't it?" and out came thambhi and SIL. MIL's was even more shocked. "Aren't you guys suppose to be in JB?" she managed to ask.. but with no replies, we sang 'Happy Birthday'.
Champion slept off while on the journey to the house, and didn’t wake up. I guess he was very tired after all the running around in the hotel earlier in the evening. On the other hand, lil' President who had a short nap on the way back from the hotel, stayed up all night, till we left at 2.30 am. But the moment he got into the car, he dozed off too. I guess all the excitement and people made him stay awake.
I must say, FILs was so excited and happy.. that he asked everybody to stay over at his place. He said he will provide the necessities.. whatever we needed. He was sad to let us leave.. But since apps had a official function to attend the next day, we had to leave. We were even not prepared.
But for sure, we all had so much fun!

For my bro's future MIL. Yeah, I actually can say that. Since we are a small family, my parents have always remined us to make sure we stay close with each other. So, my in-laws and bro's in-laws also know each other, as there are events that they both meet often :)

My bro's MIL. Indeed it was nice.. MILs was so happy that she had so many people at her party.. They even admitted that she haven't had a very grand party for a long long time already :)
