Happy Mother's Day

The water fun continued another day!

DAY 3 - Sunday

After breakfast we decided to wash and vacuum our cars. Champion has always helped us when we wash the cars, and didn’t mind missing his Barney programme on TV. We realize that he may not be helping much, but at least he is engage in a family activity. Even when I am gardening, he will help me water the plants.

@ Champion helping wash off the soap on my car

We also finished up the Mother's Day card Champion and lil' President made for the mothers.. Apps took the opportunity to make a card for me, from him and the boys. I helped him with it too.. to get the palm prints of the boys.

I made amma a card too.. with the help of some word arts, I was proud of my own card *ahem*

@ Card apps made for me, with his and the boys palm prints @ Card made for the ammachi, ammachi's sis and appayee

@ Hand flags for the boys periamma, chithi and athai (apps sis and SILs) and me too! @ Card I made for my amma :)

I have always wanted the bamboo seat swing.. and apps granted my wish. I got the bamboo seat as my Mother's Day gift. The best part of the gift is that it was a real suprise to me.. as I saw it in our car porch after our trip to PD. It was really sweet of apps to get me something I loved to have for a long long time... "I love you, sayang" *muuuaahhh*

@ Champion and lil' President enjoying themselves on the new swing

After that, we headed to maama’s place. He had a Mother’s Day lunch for us; amma, Sinnamma and me.. and our families. The boys had fun there. In the evening, taatha brought Champion to the pool.. They didn’t have their swimming costume.. so, they couldn’t get into the water. But still, they got their feet wet. They couldn’t resist :)

Later in the evening, we headed to our in-laws place. After the hugs, kisses and card and gift presentations, we went out for dinner. My, my, all the shops were crowded. We made a mistake of not making a reservation.. So, we had to drive around to find a place to eat!

By the time we reached home at 11.00 p.m., we were all tired out. Now, I wish I had a break ;)

two little fellas,
Thanks.. just wanted their cards to be personalised (more than just words :)

Not really.. it becomes to tedious. I just jot down their milestone till they are 1 in their baby journal.. After that, I beleive they can read about themselves in their blog :)

gene lim,
Thanks.. Same to you dear.

Good helper isn't it? He loves to help us.. especially when it involves water.. like washing ca, watering plants, etc.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I think I have to carry on encouraging them to be helpful ;)

jazzmint,
Hehehe.. in the name of washing, I believe he also wanted to have fun with water!

Thanks.. have to get it instilled in them, so that they carry on making cards, just like how I do till now :)

How did you do the palm prints on the cards? Your card is very nice lah. You are very creative. :)

I like those palm prints! They look nice.. the ones I try to do for Zara are a bit blurr..

What paint do you use?

mumsgather & zara's mama,
Thanks.. I have long wanted to do this. so, this was a good use of their palm prints :)

I actually used the paint that we used during school time, blue and red colour cover (forgot the name).

I put a small dab of paint in their palms and wet it with water a bit (not too wet.. if not not clear and light).

The hardest part is to make sure they don't move when the palm is on the paper. I press their palm, hold it few seconds, press all corners of the palm and then pull the palm off the paper. I got apps to help me hold the paper down, so that it doesn't stick to the hand and spoil the palm print.

Its easy.. I am going to do it again.. for safe keeping :)

It's fun for the kids too, though it was tough with lil' President :)

You are such a lucky mama...I love those hand printed mother's day card. So envious...:P

geeth said...

allyfeel,
Indeed I am :)
But I wouldn't have got one myself, if I didn't initiate apps to create one for me.. but still, I was happy that he sat down and completed a card just for me :)

I hope when the boys are bigger, the will create crafts on their own for birthdays and other events.. but I will surely help them through, just the way my mum did for us :)

rocksea,
Thanks.. all my mother's training :)

Actually, I normally remove the link to the original images. Since this is just a card image, I shall bring it back on ;) (I didn't realise that there may be someone interested to read my card)
