What a relieve..

When I got home after work two days ago, MILs told me that Champion had used a cotton bud and pushed it into his ears. Apparently, he was followed what his elder cousins were doing. MILs was cooking at that time, and hardly realised what had happened. She only heard Champion crying.

Arrggh! He had pushed the cotton bud into his ears.. and a bit too much that he felt pain. After a little while, he stopped crying and continued playing, she said. So, she asumed that he was okay. She asked him whether she should called apps, he gave a BIG no. So, she left him to play.

When I asked him whether it was painful, he gave me a BIG no! Okay, since Champion didn't complain of any pain, I thought it should be fine.

But, I knew that when Champion gives a BIG no, its a YES. So, fearing of any internal injury, I asked apps to check his ears in the morning (he slept of early that night). Guess what we saw? He has dried blood, which flowed out to the outer of his ear. Ouch! We felt the pain. Can you imagine? Pushing in something your ears, till it bleeds?

Apps checked. Of course, Champion was reluctant. But I had to hold him down. This was not something to play. Unfortunately, there were dried blood covering his ear drum. So, apps was unable to assess the injury. He said we have to wait till the dried blood clears off.

Apps checked again this morning. To our great relieve, Champion had only hurt his side walls of the ear, and NOT his ear drum.

Phew! What a relieve.

Ouch!!! Thank God, he is okay.
Sometimes he is afraid of doing something wrong, that's why he said "NO".

Bb once cut his finger and it was blood. He became extremely quiet. I think he doesn't want me to find out that he has been naughty.

I must be careful of the cotton bud..phew!

Hairs stood up my arms as I was reading that! I am very sensitive there, so I can only shudder!!!

And a very nice new look for your template!! Nice soothing colors.

that's why I keep those cotton buds in a high drawer... and I will help my son to do it instead of letting him try :)

glad that hear that he's ok :)

Dear allyfeel,
I guess kids are scared that we will scold them when they do something naughty.. When it turns out to be an injury, we need to know.. Failing to understand that, they don't tell...

Thanks.. Glad you like the fresh new look of the "Essence of Love".

Dear L B,
I was so touched. I don't see many sensitive guys..

Thanks.. glad you like the template.

Dear egghead,
At home, I keep the cotton bud far from their reach. But at MILs, I am not there to monitor.

Mistake do happen when the not so old cousins (around 6-3 years old) leave things like the cotton bud at my boys reach.

Dear SFO,
yeap... I am very much releived.
Thanks for the concern.

Glad you like the new look of the "Essence of Love".

Ouch! Poor Little Champion.. I better be careful not to clean my ear with cotton buds in the presence of Zara just in case she tries to immitate.

Btw, Apps a Dr? Seems very expert in checking such things.. I guess for us, we'll probably bring the little one to a Paed, since we won't know how to tell.

Dear zara's mama,
yeah, they actually try to immitate us. We have to be careful..

Yeap, hubby is a Dr. I wouldn't have known how to check as well. Most I would have done is look into the ear with a torchlight. Luckiyly he had the right tool.
