Aiyah, give up lah! (Less than a minute, lazy to think oredi...)
I know I knew the answer to this question before, but I can't recall it now.
You wanna try?

Shown above are 4 men buried up to their necks in the ground. They can not move so can only look forward. Between A and B is a brick wall which can not be seen through. They know that between them are 4 hats, 2 x black and 2 x white, but they do not know which colour they are wearing.
In order to avoid being shot one of them must call out to the executioner the colour of their hat. If they get it wrong, everyone will be shot.
They are not allowed to talk to each other and have 10 minutes to fathom it out.
After 10 minutes:
Q. Which one of them calls out?
Q. Why is he 100% certain of the colour of his hat?
This is not a trick question. There are no outside influences nor other ways of communicating. They cannot move and are buried in a straight line. So A & B can only see their respective sides of the brick wall, C can see B and D can see B & C.

"give up!"
darn i`ve done this before. let me think..
i'm taking the easy way out... waiting for the answer :)
two little fellas,
I wish someone can give me the answer. I'm waiting too...
Aiyoh Geetha, why you do this to me? Now I cannot sleep until I get the answer. Cruel lah you. hehehe.
I say D..
lian,
yeah, me too! That's why I thought you guys can help me figure this out :) I'm stuck.
zara's mama,
I would say D too. But I remember seeing the answer before, and it may be wrong... *confused*
Anybody with the answer out there?
C calls out. C knows D can see his(C`s) and B`s hats. If C`s and B`s hats were the same color (white and white or black and black), D would call out the other color. Since D does not call out, that means C`s and B`s colors are different. C can see that B`s hat is white. So his (C`s) has to be black!
sfo,
yippee! You have finally stopped me from cracking my head any further. Thanks dear.
My answer was C before looking at still_figuring_out's explaination. :)
Let us know the answer okay??
allyfeel,
my answer was C too.
I knew it is wrong, but that was the most logical answer for me, when I couldn't get the right answer.
The right answer is what 'sfo' had explained... now I recall seing this answer before :)
Hi Geetha,
It is 'C'.
Coz, D can see the 2 hats infront of him.. If the two hats are of same color(both black or both white),He could tell the color of his..(If he sees both black..his must be white.. or if he sees both white..his must be black). But D is not telling the answer because he sees 1 white and 1 black..
So C has the chance now..Since D is not able to tell, it is obvioous that D is seeing 1 white and 1 black...Now C sees 1 white hat infront of him..So his hat color is black..
