Tis' the season to be jolly...

.... fa la la la laaa, la la lalaaa.

We have joined others in welcoming the Christmas season. We have our Christmas tree up too. My, my, I don't remember taking so long to put up the tree, decorate it and hang the other decorations around the house last year. This time, I actually took more than half a day to complete it!

I saved a few ornaments for Champion to put up by himself when he comes back from appayee's.

When he arrived with apps, he noticed something colourful from the outside of the house. He peeked, looked, smiled. Then he pointed to the door and said see. In we went.

He was so stunned. He saw a big tree in the corner of the living room. He just stood there, watching it, without blinking or moving an inch. Later, he got nearer, and said Waah. After few moments, he goes, Waah. Again, after a few moments, he goes Waah.

We just stood there watching him. IT just reminded me of the adverts on the Play House Disney Channel, Channel 63 on Astro. For every show advert, they will go...

Waah, Ah, Aaah!

After receovering from the shock, he went over to touch the tree, and the ornaments too. I was so worried that he might pull all the ornaments out. But, to my suprise, he just touched them and smiled at me. And so far, the tree is still standing the way we put it and with the decorations intact. He was soo excited when I handed him the ornaments for him to hang on the tree. Not that he knew how to do it, but just gave it the feeling that he helped us. I brought his hand to the tree and helped him hang the ornaments. After each ornament, he goes amore for some more. So sweet....

Mr. President was equally excited with the colours and the lights. He was jumping and struggling to get off me to reach for the tree.

Later that day, we caught Mr. President trying to crawl to the tree. Nope, you can't touch it. Its far to sharp and dangerous. SEE no TOUCH, baby.

Talking bout the Christmas tree, Ai Lian posted a beautiful story that tells us the meaning of the Christmas symbols. It really enlightened me.

I have already started shopping for those in my Christmas list. Finished for at least half of them. Phew! But, I still have another half to go. The thought going back to the shopping mall is really putting me off from buying the gifts just yet. Too crowded. I am just looking a free day, so that I can start my shopping in the morning when the crowd is lesser.

Waaah, nice tree. No wonder so many waaahhs and aaaahs from your kid. Looks like you have many years of experience putting up Christmas trees. Mine is just a little one coz' we don't have much space. I always make the mistake of not testing the lights before putting them up. Anyway, glad you like the story I posted. Will be putting up another one soon.

egghead:
Its about 7ft tall. And that's why it took me soooo long to decorate!

shri:
Thanks.. Actually, I played around and learnt to make the changes. Not that I am good at it, but may be I can help..

lian:
Hehehhe, I think he was so impressed by the tree being so many many times bigger than him! Thanks. Have been doing it since I was young. But hubby still says that the tree doesn't look as good as the one in the shopping mall. Small or big, the Christmas cheer is the one that lights us up, isn't it. Yeap, you have to test the light first, to make sure they are all even on the tree.

mjey:
Better hurry up dear. Christmas is gonna be here. The only reason I put it up early is for my boy and since putting it up is not easy, it might as well stay there for some time ;)
