I can, but they can't?

We were at the petrol station, when Champion suddenly said, "Amma mangkuk!"

I was shocked with what I heard, and asked him, "What?"

He repeated what he said.

Wondering why he actually said that out of no where, I looked straight at him and asked him back, "What does that mean?"

He thought for a while and was about to say "Stu..." but he coolly turned to lil' President and said, "Thambhi's head"

Somehow, I thought he knew what the word 'mangkuk' meant in that phrase and was clever enough to manipulate the word 'stupid' that he was supposed to use to describe the meaning when I ask ed him what it meant. He knew he is not suppose to use such words.

I know Champion learnt these words from his school going cousins. I wonder what else he will end up learning when he starts going to school! *sigh*

How much I don't want my boys to use those words.. I recall how thambhi and I used the words ourselves :)

From calling each other 'mangkuk', we continued to other utensils (in Malay); pinggan, cawan, garfu, sudu, kuali and any other kinds of utensils we can think of.. How silly! I guess these utensils are suppose to mean 'stu..' I think we were in our teens then and we were always playfully saying things like these to each other ;)

What a minute.. I think we still use those words on each other even now, jokingly!

Hehehe.. Now, how do I correct my children when I myself used such words?

Uh oh..it's gonna be hard. So much so I didn't want bb to pick up some bad words but sometimes really can't help it when hubby said it so often. All I can do is to tell him dun use that kind of words. :P

visithra,
Yeap! *sigh*

jazzmint,
You didn't know about this word? Hmm, don't be suprised of other words you might hear when the children start going to school!

gene,
Yeap, no matter how much we control their vocabulary, they will somehow learn things we don't want them to!
So you one of those who used these words.. Cool! :)

allyfeel,
Yeap, it can be real tough.. especially when we use some words at home just kiddingly, and the kids just catch those words instantly! *sigh*
