Too attached

Every time Champion is at my parent’s house or in-law’s house, when asked “Whose house you want to go to?”, he never fails to answer “Amma’s house.

Now, from September 5th to October 9th, both the boys would be at taatha’s house as athai is in India for a holiday. So, as usual, I have to send them every morning and fetch them in the evenings. I still see that same excitement in them when I come home… they scream out for me, they run up to me for a hug!

Just to test them, ammachi would ask Champion, “You want to stay taatha’s house or amma’s house?

He will answer without doubt, “Amma’s house..

Sometimes, when we are in the car, he would ask me, “Ma, we going your house ah?

He just misses home and loves to be in his familiar surroundings.. although he is at in-law’s or my parents house most of the time.

Yesterday, after an outing with my parents, I was about to leave and suddenly Champion cried and said he wanted to stay with my parents. I asked him whether he was sure.. He didn’t answer but wanted to get down from the car.

I left him at my parents place with lil’ President and headed back home.

This morning, when I arrived, he was seated on the sofa, staring at the plastic container filled with fruits for me (prepared by appa).

He was happy to see me. I hugged him and wished him “Good morning.” He reciprocated my hug and gave me a big broad smile.

When I asked for the fruits, he didn’t to give me. So, I headed to the kitchen to get another container to fill more fruits. Just then, Champion comes to the kitchen and hugs my leg. He didn’t want to let go. I could see a puddle of tear hanging onto the tip of his eyes.

I bent down to hug him.. and he didn’t to let me go!

He only let me go when I told him that I will put the Carz CD for him.

Aaah, he missed home, his brother, amms and apps.. He wouldn’t have felt our absense if lil’ President stayed the night too.

Hmm, next time I don’t think I can leave my baby any where without one of us to accompany him..

Aaa.. I'd never let Zara sleep with anybody except me.. (of course sometimes with Daddy but only when I'm no in town).. She refused to sleep with anyone else.. she said, "only sleep with mummy".

Maybe when she has a sibling it'll be different, with antoher to acompany her, she may start to have sleep overs.

zara's mama,
She is attached too. But I need to let go of my boys.. scared they get too attached, which they are..
They are only comfortable for sleep overs only at my parents.. and no other place (though they show some interest to other kids home).
She has to get used to it, as her sibling might take over her place and attention for a while during the breastfeeding period.

visithra,
Yeap, he did.. So did I!
