Nowadays, I try not to carry Champion too much. He is getting heavier and I seem to be having backache. Even more, recently I suffered a hairline fracture on my ankle due to a ankle injury. However, sometimes, I just can’t resist when he calls out to me, “Amma, carry me amma..”
During the St. Anne’s feast, now and then, Champion will ask to be carried. If apps is not carrying lil’ President, I will ask apps to carry Champion. Lil’ President would be in the hands of other family members.
After the mass on Sunday, Champion requested that I carry him. Apps had already walked way in front of us, carrying lil’ President. So, I had no choice.
FIL and the others were walking behind us. Suddenly FIL calls out to me, “Give Champion to me. Let me carry him..” I told him “It’s okay.. I can carry”, as I didn’t want FIL to be carrying Champion a long way himself.
“How long are you going to be carrying him?”
Then, he called out to his eldest son, “You carry him.” BIL come over and took Champion from me..
I was touched..
He reminded me of appa.. appa always helps me to carry the boys.
I must say.. I am blessed to have caring in-laws :)

I always wonder how some parents can carry their kids even when the kid is 3, 4yrs old.. How can their body take the weight huh?
I'm having problem with Zara already.. although I like cuddling her, carrying her for long really tires me.
yea i too am having porblems carrying ashley. just last week i was complaining to hubs that my arms were aching...

My son loves to be carried as well. Moreso now cos we tend to carry my daughter who is just 8 mths! Wonder when they wud get over the same.
wow..ur inlaws so nice and understanding huh. True, when they get older, it's really heavy, even a short distance I'm already out of breathe
You are blessed to have nice in laws but it goes both ways.You must be a very caring and nice person to them too.

I think all of them have no choice when the kids asks them to.. for a while, I guess it's okay.. but othwerwise, a stroller should do the trick of the kid doesn't mind :)
Me too.. and then it is between love and health.. coz' toddlers don't understand our back is aching, but rather take it as we don't want to carry them *sigh*

Mom says its coz they got used to the body heat since you were carrying them when they were younger - the best method is to put them in prams

It was tough on that day, as it was too hot.. they get restless and tired.. Carrying them makes them feel better, I think :)
By the way, we didn't bring a pram there as it was crowded and we would just be acquiring more space in that crowd :)
